Breaking Barriers Poster

This is the poster I made for my film "Breaking Barriers". I painted my actresses hand, took a photo, and then photoshoped it.

Watching the film once it's up will help you understand the poster but I'll try explaining it. I used an open hand because at the end of the film a girl relieved of loneliness gives another girl a hand to lift her out of her loneliness. It's the main point of the film. I also made it so that the grunge of the photo clears away where the hand is as if pushing through the darkness. The colors and designs all represent different emotions my main characters go through.

Black - loneliness
Green - renewal
Yellow - happiness
Pink - love
Orange - craziness
Blue - sadness
Red - anger
White - freedom

The film is about dealing with loneliness and how it only takes one person to help someone out of that dark state of mind. Why did I make a film about this? Because it's something I have suffered with many times. I wanted to make a film that addressed that issue since it is so personal to me. I also wanted to make something that could connect with other people. There aren't many films about loneliness and yet many people suffer with it.
